Honolulu County Inmate Search

On This Page

An inmate search is the act of finding information about persons held in correctional or detention facilities. Such searches generally reveal inmate data like full name, aliases, mugshot, arrest date, booking number, arrest charges, and bond amount.

In Honolulu, residents can conduct inmate searches by using online or offline resources provided by government entities. For example, the Hawaii Police Department partners with a third-party platform to provide information on inmates held in Alapai'i Police Headquarters and the Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC). The Federal Bureau of Prisons also maintains online access to records of inmates held in federal correctional facilities.

Note that the city and county of Honolulu do not have a personal online jail roster. The county's police department only features an online arrest log for recently arrested persons. Arrest logs do not indicate if the arrestee was detained in the county jail. To conduct inmate searches, inquirers may visit the Honolulu Police Department at this physical location:

What Information is Included in the Honolulu County Inmate Roster

There is no clear information on the inmate information accessible in Honolulu County's inmate roster. However, the county's arrest log contains the following information:

  • The arrestee's full name and known aliases.
  • The criminal charges.
  • Arrestee's age, sex, race, and gender.
  • Arrest report number.
  • Time and manner of release.

In contrast to arrest logs, inmate records may include post-booking information like mugshots, bond amounts, court records, and booking numbers.

The Police Department's Alapai'i Headquarters temporarily houses inmates during initial booking and processing. However, inmates are remanded to the Oahu Community Correctional Center. The center has approximately 950 beds, making it the largest detention center in the state. It houses adult male and female inmates who are awaiting trial or serving sentences.

In contrast, the Kapolei Juvenile Detention Facility houses juvenile offenders that are either awaiting trial or judicial review. Convicted juvenile offenders get transferred to the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility. The facility serves as the primary detention center for juvenile offenders.
